Algebra 2 is a cumulative review of all Algebra topics and is a fundamental course that is completed before the study of Trigonometry/PreCalculus. The course content is also the last mathematics course covered on the SAT's. Once completed with the course, students will be able to correctly apply the order of operations to evaluate expressions and use formulas; solve systems of linear equations using the graphing method; perform operations on polynomials; add, subtract, multiply, and divide functions; identify an arithmetic or geometric sequence; and write and graph equations of parabolas, circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas.

Students will be provided with Prentice Hall Algebra 2

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Correctly apply the order of operations to evaluate expressions and use formulas.
  • Solve systems of linear equations using the graphing method.
  • Perform operations on polynomials.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide functions.
  • Identify an arithmetic or geometric sequence.
  • Write and graph equations of parabolas, circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas.
